Dutch A1 Grand Prix effort launched at Maarsbergen
New orange and national-flag livery goes back to Carel's colour scheme
Maarsbergen, August 20, 2007 – The Dutch A1 Grand Prix team, run by Jan Lammers's Racing for Holland, launched their new livery at the Maarsbergen Estate on August 9, 2007. Drivers Jeroen Bleekemolen and Arie Luyendijk Jr, along with team owner Lammers, unveiled the Lola-Zytek A1GP car in front of the estate's orangerie by drawing back the Dutch national tri-colour. A car with a typical Dutch colour scheme appeared, as red, white and blue were mixed with lots of orange. As the winner of a design contest arranged by the team Jan-Willem Bouwknecht was lauded as the livery's designer.
Then, right besides the entry to the orangerie, another racing car in national colours hove into view. It was a wooden model of Carel's Porsche 718, showing the respect for Carel Godin de Beaufort in today's Dutch racing scene. Many racing drivers, journalists and even a few (racing) members of the Dutch royal family showed up to see what the new A1GP car was like. The large crowd witnessed the enthousiastic team which aims to win the championship. The first A1GP race of the 2007-08 season takes place at Zandvoort, on September 30.
